A man will appear in court tomorrow for attempted murder after a serious domestic assault in Old Reynella this morning.
Police were called to a house in Old Reynella just after 7.15 a.m. on Sunday, February 7, following reports that a man had been stabbed by his partner.
When patrols and paramedics arrived, they found both parties at the scene.
It will be alleged that the victim, a man in his thirties, suffered severe lacerations to his hand while trying to defend himself. He was taken to Flinders Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries and will undergo surgery.
A 29-year-old man, Old Reynella, has been arrested and charged with attempted murder. He has been denied bail by police and will appear in Christies Beach Magistrates’ Court tomorrow, Monday, February 8.
In addition to facing serious charges, the man has received an Interim Police Intervention Order (PIIO), which provides additional protection for the victim. Police warn that they will not tolerate domestic violence and will take all available measures to protect the victims.
